(CBS) – The White Sox have acquired first baseman Lars Anderson off waivers from the Diamondbacks.

The 25-year-old Anderson appeared in six games for the Red Sox in 2012, going 1-for-8. He spent most of the season with Triple-A Pawtucket, batting .259 (88-340) with nine home runs, 52 RBIs and 49 runs scored. Anderson was traded to the Indians in July and finished the season with Triple-A Columbus, appearing in 18 games.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder was traded to the Diamondbacks on Dec. 11, 2012 and was released one month later.

Anderson has appeared in 30 career games over three major-league seasons with Boston, hitting .167 (8-48) with four RBIs.
