Train Derailment In Bellwood Causes Metra Delays

BELLWOOD (STMW) — A freight train derailment Sunday is causing delays for Metra Union Pacific trains in west suburban Bellwood.

The derailment occurred in the area of Bellwood and Berkeley, according to Metra.

Inbound and outbound Union Pacific Line trains are experiencing delays up to an hour as trains are operating on a single track, Metra said.

Bellwood police could not be immediately reached for comment.
