CHICAGO (CBS) – Firefighters were battling a large house fire in northwest suburban Bensenville early Monday.

The fire started around dawn at a home on Ridgewood Avenue in Bensenville.

CBS 2’s Kris Habermehl reports flames were burning through the roof, and firefighters were working defensively to prevent the fire from spreading to other homes.

Smoke from the fire was visible from several miles away.

There was no immediate word about any injuries.
