By Jay Zawaski-

Last night, the Blackhawks tied the NHL record for consecutive games without a regulation loss after beating the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 in the shootout.

They can break the record with a win Friday night vs. the Sharks.  Here’s a look at 10 reasons why the Blackhawks are off to this great start (in no particular order).

1) Camaraderie: In seasons past, the Blackhawks’ commitment to team and toughness have been in question. There have been games in which they’ve been pushed around. Not this season. While the Hawks are frequently outhit, they rarely back down. Players from 4th line grinders like Brandon Bollig to 1st line stars like Jonathan Toews have stood up for themselves and teammates. It’s a welcomed change from the Hawks teams of the last couple of seasons.
