Dog Rescued From Lake Michigan Reunited With Owner

CHICAGO (CBS) — Pifas was so excited he could hardly control himself.

The three-year-old retriever that was seen on TV last Friday stuck on a patch of ice in Lake Michigan is now back in home with his owner Nerijus Steponacitius.

“I came home and checked the website and I saw the picture and I knew right away it was him,” said Steponacitius.

The dog had to spend a few days in Animal Care and Control in part because it had to be neutered, per city ordinance. Now he is back home again afternoon on the ice and nine days in Chicago’s harsh winter elements.
