Bears Sign TE Martellus Bennett To 4-Year Deal

(CBS) In their first move of 2013 NFL free agency, the Bears have signed former Giants tight end Martellus Bennett.

Bennett and the Bears agreed to a four-year contract.

Bennett, 6-foot-6 and 265-pounds, started all 16 games for the Giants in 2012 and finished with 55 catches for 626 yards with five touchdowns, while working on a one-year deal.

He spent the previous four seasons with the Cowboys.

In five seasons, the 26-year-old Bennett has caught 140 passes for 1,472 yards with nine touchdowns. He was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
