(CBS) Armed with a new head coach and offensive coordinator, the Bears will run the read option in 2013.

Speaking at the NFL meetings in Phoenix on Wednesday, Bears new head coach Marc Trestman revealed he will include the read option in the Bears’ playbook.

Though Cutler’s style doesn’t necessarily match up with that of an option quarterback, simply adding the option to the Bears’ gameplan will force defenses to prepare for it.

Trestman also raved about Cutler’s athletic ability Wednesday, saying the quarterback was “exceptionally tough” and that his arm was better than any quarterback Trestman had ever worked with.
