CHICAGO (CBS) — Administrators with Chicago Public Schools have released a detailed document explaining why each of the 53 schools targeted for closing made the list.

The document details declining enrollment, costs of operating each school, as well as other factors, such as inadequate classrooms or labs.

The document also includes maps of the new, “welcoming schools” for each closed school and the reasons why those schools would be beneficial to the new students.
