Man Stabbed On CTA Red Line Platform

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Charges were pending Tuesday morning against a 33-year-old man who suspected of stabbing another man during an altercation at a CTA Red Line station on the Near North Side Monday night.

About 8:12 p.m., the two men were on the platform at the North/Clybourn station, in the 1500 block of North Clybourn Avenue, when they became involved in a verbal altercation, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

During the argument one of the men stabbed the other once in the chest and once to the upper left leg, Estrada said.

The 35-year-old victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in "stable" condition, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Juan Hernandez said. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.

Charges were pending Tuesday morning against the offender, Estrada said.
