1 Dead, 1 Hurt After Brothers Targeted In Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Gunfire erupted in the West Pullman neighborhood Wednesday night, killing one man while leaving his younger brother with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The brothers were walking near 120th Street and Normal Avenue when two gunmen approached on foot and opened fire about 8:30 p.m., authorities said.

Courtney Young, 36, died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, authorities said. Young, of the 600 bock of West 119th Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:03 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Young's 19-year-old brother was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in "stable" condition with a gunshot wound to the leg, authorities said.

After the shooting both gunmen fled on foot, police said. No one was in custody as Area South detectives were investigating.
