FRANKFORT, Ill. (CBS) – A graduation party on Sunday ended with more than a dozen people hurt, when a second floor deck crashed to the ground.

CBS 2’s Dana Kozlov reports firefighters and paramedics rushed to a home in the 7800 block of West Kingston Drive in southwest suburban Frankfort around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Firefighters said about 15 people were standing on the deck for a high school graduation party, when it suddenly came crashing down without warning. The floor of the deck fell through to the ground.

Two women and two children had been under the deck just seconds before it collapsed.

Four people were hospitalized with minor injuries. About a dozen others suffered bumps, bruises and scrapes, but did not require hospitalization.

It was not immediately clear how old the deck was, or what caused it to collapse.
