While 23 year old Marissa Dub, formerly of Streamwood, lay in an Indianapolis hospital bed in serious condition with bite wounds to her head, those back home are recalling her as a kind and gentle young lady.

"She loves animals, she loves to be with them. If my dog was out in the yard or something like that she would come over and pet it and talk to it," said George Fanelli.

Fanelli says once, Marissa brought a stray cat home and pleaded with her parents, until they ultimately let her keep it. The Dub family has two dogs.
