Three-Alarm Fire On South Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago firefighters are on the scene Monday of a three-alarm fire in a residential building on the South Side.

The fire is in a four-flat structure at 2459 S. Central Park in the Little Village neighborhood.

The fire department says two adults were taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries were not immediately known. Both victims were in fair to serious condition.

There are reports that some residents of the building needed to be rescued by firefighters.

Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

The fire started in an interior stairwell between the third and fourth floor.

The fire was put out around 5:15 p.m.
