Cubs' Top Pick Bryant Promoted To Daytona

(CBS) It didn't take long for the Cubs' top pick in the 2013 draft to be promoted.

The team promoted third baseman Kris Bryant from short-season Single-A Boise to Single-A Dayton.

Bryant was in the midst of a 15-game hitting streak before the promotion. He hit .354 with four home runs and 16 RBIs during his brief time in Boise.

The 21-year-old went 5-for-6 with one double, one triple and three RBIs in a doubleheader Sunday against Vancouver.

Over the course of the longest hitting streak of his young career, Bryant went .415 (22-for-53.)
