Man Shot In Head In Old Town

CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was shot in the head in the Old Town neighborhood Saturday afternoon about one block from Near North police district, police said.

The man was in the 1200 block of North Orleans Street when an armed man shot him in the head and fled east on foot about 1:20 p.m., said police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

The wounded man, believed to be in his 20s, was in critical condition, according to unconfirmed dispatch reports.

No one was in custody while Area Central detectives investigated.
