Colbert On Syria: 'If America Cared About Shooting People, We'd Be Invading Chicago'

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago has been compared to a warzone so many times in recent memory, it just might make you ask: is it becoming true?

While speaking about Syria on The Colbert Report last night (September 3rd), satirist Stephen Colbert decided to use Chicago as one of his punchlines.

"The United States has no choice but to attack Syria, because Dictator Bashar al-Assad is killing his own people with chemical weapons. Before he was just killing them with bullets," Colbert said, before continuing. "If America cared about shooting people, we'd be invading Chicago."
