Chicago Police Sergeant Carjacked On South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are searching for suspect who carjacked an off-duty Chicago Police sergeant in the South Shore neighborhood late Friday.

The suspect took the sergeant's 2006 Infiniti QX56 from him at 10:18 p.m., in the 6900 block of East End Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

The sergeant suffered "minor injuries" in the confrontation and was treated at the scene, Gaines said.

Further details about the attack were not yet known early Saturday.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
