Illini's Beckman 'Shocked' By OK State Allegations

(CBS) The allegations that Oklahoma State players received cash payments and perks over the past 13 years shocked Illinois head coach Tim Beckman, who was the Cowboys' defensive coordinator from 2007-08.

The report from Sports Illustrated, which does not name Beckman, was released Tuesday morning.

"I was unaware of any illegal activity in my short time there," Beckman said in a text message to the Tribune.

To conduct its report, SI said it began a 10-month probe that included interviews with 64 Oklahoma State football players from 1999 to 2011, as well as current and former staff members.
