Melton Done For Season With ACL Tear

(CBS) Bears defensive end Henry Melton is done for the year.

After ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Melton will miss the remainder of the 2013 NFL season with a torn ACL, Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett confirmed the news at Halas Hall Monday.

"He's a great player, we're going to miss him the rest of the season, but I just wish him the best, just rehab as hard as he can and get ready for next season," Bennett said.

Melton, who is currently playing under the franchise tag, suffered the knee injury in last night's win over the Steelers.

The 26-year-old Melton was drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

He was voted to the Pro Bowl last season.
