Manto Out As White Sox Hitting Coach
CHICAGO – With one game left in the regular season, White Sox hitting coach Jeff Manto has been relieved of his duties, the team announced Saturday.
Assistant hitting coach Harold Baines will handle Manto's responsibilities for Sunday's season finale against the Royals, a news release said.
Manto, 49, was in his second season as hitting coach. He had joined the organization as the minor-league hitting coordinator in 2007.
