CHICAGO (STMW) — A 24-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting on the South Side Wednesday night.
Ashton Pugh was on the sidewalk in the 8900 block of South May Street when shots were fired from a dark-colored sedan driving by about 9:15 p.m., authorities said.
Pugh, whose home address was not released, was shot in the abdomen and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he died about 9 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Police believe the attack was gang-related, police said.
No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigated.
