8 Injured In Crash On Stevenson Expressway

CHICAGO (STMW) — Traffic is moving again on the inbound Stevenson Expressway early Monday after a crash left eight people injured, one critically, Sunday night.

A semi-truck rear-ended a vehicle near where the northbound Stevenson merges with the southbound Dan Ryan Expressway about 11:30 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs.

The ramp from the inbound Stevenson to the outbound Dan Ryan was closed for nearly an hour, and reopened about 12:15 a.m., according to Illinois State Police.

One person was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in critical condition, while the other seven — who were all in serious condition — were taken other area hospitals, according to fire media. The ages and genders of the injured were not immediately known.
