Expert: First Medical Pot Grown in Illinois Could Be For Sale In 2015

(CBS) — The CEO of the Quantum 9 medical marijuana consulting firm Michael Mayes says some entrepreneurs are already looking for land and real estate for the 22 marijuana growing operations to be allowed in Illinois.

“For a cultivation facility, there could be anywhere from $750,000 to $4 million,” said Mayes. “That would be everything from application submission all the way up to your first harvest.”

May says the first medical marijuana crop will be harvested in the third or fourth quarter of next year in Illinois and be ready for sale in the first quarter of 2015.
