Park Ridge Officer Honored For Life-Saving Heroics

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Officer Kenneth King is a life-saver.

Police Officer Honored

Really.

And, he was honored for that last night.

King, a Park Ridge police officer, found a 62-year-old man lying face down and unresponsive at Touhy and Wisner last summer.

The man had no pulse and was not breathing.

King went to work, beginning CPR.

He was able to get the man to breathe again and his pulse returned.

The victim made a full recovery.

King received the department's highest honor at a city council meeting last night tonight.

The man he saved was also there.
