Cubs Officially Name Coomer New Radio Analyst

(CBS) The Chicago Cubs officially announced the hiring of Ron Coomer as the color analyst for their radio broadcasts.

Coomer, a Lockport Township High School graduate, played for the Cubs in 2001 and spent nine years in the majors.

Most recently, the 47-year-old Coomer served as an in-studio analyst for Twins games on Fox Sports North.

“What a great homecoming for Ron,” said Crane Kenney, Cubs President of Business Operations. “I enjoyed getting to know Ron during the process and am a fan of his work in the Twin Cities.   His knowledge of the game is vast, and he will be a great complement to Pat in the WGN booth.”
