AURORA, Ill. (STMW) — Three teenagers were shot Friday night while walking in west suburban Aurora, police said.

The teens, ages 13, 14 and 15, were walking in the 1200 block of Colorado Avenue on the west side of Aurora about 9 p.m. when they were approached by a vehicle, according to a news release from Aurora police.

Someone in the four-door white sedan fired several shots at the teens before driving off eastbound on Colorado Avenue, police said.

The 13-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and the 14-year-old suffered graze wounds to his back and elbow. The 15-year-old was shot in the legs, police said.

They were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the release said.

A nearby home was shot in the incident, but no one inside was injured, police said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Aurora police at (630) 256-5500.
