Flossmoor Boy Held On $2M Bond In Brother's Murder

(STMW) -- A Flossmoor boy was ordered held with a $2 million bond Sunday after he was charged with murdering his older brother.

Michael Tigue, 15, has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder in connection to the stabbing death of 25-year-old Steven Tigue, according to a statement from Flossmoor Police Department.

Police found Steven Tigue with a stab wound inside his home in the 2800 block of Chayes Park Drive around 12:55 a.m. Friday after they responded to a domestic disturbance there, the statement said.

He was transported to South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 1:38 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

An autopsy conducted Friday revealed the man's death to be a homicide, making it the first in Flossmoor in more than 30 years, authorities said.

Police identified Michael Tigue as a possible suspect at the scene, where he was taken in to custody, police said. He was charged Friday afternoon.

Tigue appeared in bond court Saturday, where Cook County Judge James Brown set bond at $2 million.
