(CBS) For years, Brian Urlacher was a pillar of the Chicago Bears defense.
As middle linebacker, he was the eyes, ears and signal caller for the Bears, helping the defense become the team’s identity. So would Urlacher ever have a future in coaching, of directing defense from the sidelines?
It doesn’t sound like it, according to Chicago Sun-Times beat writer Adam Jahns, who Tuesday tweeted about new Bucs and former Bears coach Lovie Smith contacting Urlacher about helping him out at training camp.
Lovie Smith asked Brian Urlacher to help coach at Bucs training camp. He said no. Says he’s not a coach. #Bears—
