CHICAGO (STMW) – Firefighters are battling a blaze in an industrial building in the South Side Bridgeport neighborhood Wednesday morning.

The fire is in the lower-level area of an industrial building that processes cooking oil at 945 W. 38th St., according to Fire Media Affairs.

The business listed at that address is the South Chicago Packing Co.

According to Fire Media, a material applied by a contractor to fill an underground void caught fire.

Everyone inside the building was safely evacuated, according to Fire Media.

A HazMat response has been requested, according to Fire Media, and a high expansion foam unit was sent to the scene.
