Man Killed In Gage Park Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- The owner of a Gold Coast custom framing gallery was killed Saturday afternoon in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Herbert Goode, 66, owner of Silver Cloud Gallery, 20 W. Ohio St., was shot in the chest in what appeared to be a robbery, Chicago Police said. He was shot around 2 p.m. in the 2300 block of West 57th Street and pronounced dead a short time later at Mount Sinai Hospital.

According to his page on LinkedIn, the social networking site for professionals, Goode owns a mixed-use industrial building not far from the location where he was killed.

Family members of Goode, when reached Sunday night at his home in Palos Park, declined to comment.

According to his LinkedIn page, Goode was a motorcycle enthusiast.

Chicago Police are investigating, but no arrests had been announced by late Sunday night.
