Thousands Run Downtown For Shamrock Shuffle

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Yes, St. Patrick's Day was weeks ago, but Sunday was the day that thousands came out downtown to run the Shamrock Shuffle.

WBBM's Nancy Harty reports they dressed in spandex and green, with some in Wisconsin red as 35,000 runners ran nearly five miles.

At the finish line, some headed for water stations and bananas while others lined up for beer and pizza.

The race is in its 35th year and comes after a long winter that had many runners yearning but unable to train outside.
