Alshon Jeffery Says Clowney's 'Going To Be A Hall Of Famer'

(CBS) Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery is quite bullish on the future for former South Carolina teammate Jadeveon Clowney, a defensive end who's a surefire top-three prospect and may go first overall in May's NFL Draft.

"He knows what he has to do," Jeffery told GoGamecocks.com. "He's going to be a great player. He's going to dominate the league, and he's going to be a Hall of Famer."

Jeffery and Clowney were teammates in 2011, when South Carolina went 11-2 and won the Capital One Bowl. Clowney had his pro day Wednesday at South Carolina, saying afterward that he believes he should be the first overall pick. The Texans have the top pick and appear to be deciding between Clowney or a quarterback.

Of course, there's no chance for a reunion anytime soon for Jeffery -- who had a breakout 2013 campaign with 1,421 receiving yards and seven touchdowns -- and Clowney, as the Bears hold the 14th pick in the draft.
