Survey: Chicago Among Top 25 Travel Destinations In World

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago was named one of the top 25 places to visit in the world, according to a travel website survey.
The 2014 Trip Advisor Travelers' Choice Awards ranks Chicago No. 18, which is four spots lower than last year's survey.
New York City is the top U.S. destination on the list, ranking No. 12.
San Francisco made grade at No. 25.
Istanbul, Turkey won top honors.
No other U.S. city made the list.
The rankings were based on the millions of reviews and opinions gathered between February 2013 and February 2014.
"The Windy City is a cornucopia of modern art, fine dining, cutting edge comedy, and die-hard sports fans," Trip Advisor said.
"Snap a photo of your reflection in the silver Cloud Gate sculpture at Millennium Park before heading to Grant Park to get hit with the refreshing spray of Buckingham Fountain.
"There are dozens of museums and theater companies in Chicago, so a cultural experience is never hard to find. You're sure to laugh your head off at the Second City Theater, the professional launch pad of many famous comedians."
