(CBS) – Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook on Sunday received a three-game suspension for a hit to David Backes of the St. Louis Blues during Game 2 of their first-round playoff series Saturday.

Seabrook delivered the hit with under five minutes to go in the third period and received a game misconduct. The Blues scored on the ensuing power play with six seconds left in the game to take it to overtime, where they won 4-3 to grab a 2-0 series lead.

The NHL’s Department for Player Safety described the play as a “late, high hit that caused an injury.”
