Chicago-Area Couples Resell Items At 2nd Annual Wedding Recyclery

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The second annual Wedding Recyclery has been going on today in the West Loop, giving couples a chance to recycle a lot of things that were once very important.

By "recycle," we mean sell.

A lot of brides, grooms and wedding planners - mostly brides - set up tables in a building on West Lake Street and sold items they used on their big day.

"I mean, it was personal to us for that day," said Lisle Mitnik of Chicago.

Mitnik got married last fall.

"I mean, we don't really have a use for 25 Mason jars anymore. So better to have somebody else use it. And all the stuff we had was vintage. So it was like, let's keep it in circulation. Let's keep it going."

WBBM: What did you do with 25 Mason jars?

"We had flowers in them."

Everything from bachelorette party items to wedding dresses were for sale.

Most people say they hoped to make at least a couple hundred dollars.

The line waiting to get in was half a block long outside the building at 1366 West Lake.
