Jameis Winston Suspended From FSU Baseball Team After Allegedly Shoplifting Crab Legs

(CBS) Florida State on Wednesday announced the suspension of Heisman Tophy-winning quarterback and dual-sport athlete Jameis Winston from the baseball team, one day after he allegedly received a citation for shoplifting crab legs from a Publix supermarket, according to reports.

Winston will be fined $30 and be required to do community service as punishment, according to SB Nation. His suspension will last until the community service is completed, according to the website. The misdeed wasn't an arrest that will go on his criminal record but rather a citation.

"As a result of his citation last night, we are suspending Jameis Winston from the baseball team," Forida State baseball coach Mike Martin said. "I am confident he will complete his community service obligation and the situation will be resolved soon."

While he's best known for his exploits on the football field, Winston has been a key contributor to the Seminoles baseball team this spring, going 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in 16 appearances.
