(CBS) In the history of harmless-yet-senseless chants by sports crowds, Yankees fans certainly submitted a candidate for Hall of Fame status last night.
If you’ll recall, second baseman Robinson Cano signed a 10-year, $240-million contract with Seattle last offseason after the best offer of New York — for which he played his first nine MLB seasons — was about $65 million less.
On Tuesday, he returned to Yankee Stadium for the first time, and there was certainly more booing than applause. The kicker, though?
The supporters of baseball’s Evil Empire that’s long outspent other franchises were chanting, “You sold out!”
Take a look for yourself.
