Chicago Teen Dies Days After Collapse During Basketball Game

(CBS) -- A Chicago teenager died Tuesday morning after collapsing during a basketball tournament last Saturday.

Jermaine Cullum, a 16-year-old sophomore at Christ the King Jesuit College Prep High School in Chicago, was was playing in a basketball tournament at Riverside Brookfield High School when he suffered an apparent heart attack on the court after a layup.

Cullum was pronounced dead at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Loyola Medical Center. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to determine his cause of death.

A nurse and an emergency room doctor who were in the stands rushed to Cullum's side and performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took him to Loyola.
