Woman Attacked On Gary, Ind. Bike Path

(CBS) – Police in northwest Indiana are searching for a man who knocked a woman off her bike and then tried to rape her earlier this week.

It happened on a bike path near Liverpool Road in Gary, a fairly pristine section of bike path near the Gary/Hobart border, CBS 2’s Dana Kozlov reports.

But on Tuesday, police say a man used his bike to knock a woman off hers and attacked her. The woman managed to get away, says Gary Police Cpl. Gabrielle King.

The 27-year-old victim was treated for minor injuries and released and unable to give police a detailed description of her attacker.

Gary police say they don’t believe Tuesday’s attack was related to a series of attacks on women in Chicago’s south suburbs.
