CHICAGO (STMW) – One man was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The shooting happened about 12:25 p.m. in the 700 block of North Springfield Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

Two men were shot and then driven to Norwegian-American Hospital by a friend, Sedevic said.

One man, 37, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the hospital, Sedevic said. Another man, 40, was shot in the chest and listed in serious condition.

Police said both are documented gang members.
