Seven Wounded In Thursday Shootings

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Seven people were wounded in shootings across the city Thursday.

Most recently, a 24-year-old man was wounded in the Gage Park neighborhood about 7:15 p.m. The man was in the 5100 block of South Oakley Avenue when he was shot multiple times, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition.

Earlier Thursday afternoon, a man was shot multiple times in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old was in the 5700 block of South Sangamon Avenue about 5 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle approached and someone inside fired several shots, police said. The man sustained gunshot wounds to his left thigh, left calf, right ankle and right foot and took himself to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, where he is listed in "stable" condition, police said.

About an hour earlier, a 30-year-old man was shot in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. He was shot in the forearm about 3:50 p.m. in the 4100 block of West Crystal Street, police said. He was taken to Norwegian American Hospital in "stable" condition.

About three hours earlier, a man was shot in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. The 34-year-old was in an alley in the 4900 block of West Iowa Street about 1 p.m. when he was shot in the hip, police said. He was taken in "stable" condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Half an hour earlier, a man was shot in the South Shore neighborhood. The 20-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 7300 block of South Kenwood Avenue about 12:30 p.m. when a group walked up and someone pulled out a gun and opened fire, police said. He was shot in the left arm and taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center in "stable" condition.

About 10:30 a.m., a man was shot in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side. The man, 22, was shot in the hip in the 8500 block of South Sangamon Street, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in "stable" condition.

Shortly before 10 a.m., a man was seriously wounded in a South Side Englewood neighborhood shooting. The 34-year-old was shot in the abdomen in the 7000 block of South Morgan Street about 9:50 a.m., police said. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings as area detectives investigate.
