Police: Man Killed In West Garfield Park Shooting

(STMW) — A man was killed in a shooting in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The man was shot in the head about 4:45 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Washington Street, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital Jr. of Cook County where he later died, Sweeney said. The man’s exact age was not yet known.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office could not confirm the death Tuesday night.
