CHICAGO (STMW) – A 54-year-old man was shot dead in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday night, police said.

The man was shot about 10:50 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Sangamon Street, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The man got out of a tan colored sedan and was talking to another male on the street when a third male walked out from a gangway and shot him in the head, Alfaro said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. His name and address were being withheld pending notification of his family.
