Teen Dies After Falling In Lake

CHICAGO (STMW) – A 16-year-old boy died after he fell into Lake Michigan on the North Side Sunday evening.

The teen fell into the water near the 4000 block of Recreation Drive about 6:10 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

He was pulled from the lake and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:06 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

His name was withheld Monday morning pending notification of family members.
