Palestinian Supporters Rally Downtown

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Palestinian supporters in Chicago took to the streets Wednesday afternoon to demand an end to the bombings in Gaza.

They rallied at the Israeli consulate in Chicago then marched around downtown. They are demanding Israel stop the offensive in Gaza as well as actions in the West Bank.

WBBM's John Cody asked some of the protestors about the rockets being launched by Hamas and they said it was self-defense.

In a statement, the Israeli consulate said, "The people who organize this rally should be calling for the organization of Hamas to stop attacking Israel with rockets and this would bring the end of this extreme situation..."
