Person Hospitalized After Being Pulled From Chicago Sanitary And Ship Canal

(CBS) -- A person rescued from the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal is in critical condition after being pulled out of the water by Chicago Fire Department dive teams Wednesday evening on the Southwest Side.

The Chicago Fire Department says it received reports of a person jumping in the canal near 38th and Pulaski around 6:20 p.m. The department says dive teams located the person in the bottom of the canal, who was then transported to Mt Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
