(CBS) —  Johnny Costello, Beverage Development Specialist  for Wirtz Beverage Illinois, appeared on CBS 2 Saturday morning to share organic cocktail recipes, using fresh produce from the Green City Market.


Here are two recipes:


Hammer Thyme

1.5 oz. Templeton Rye

.75 oz. lemon juice

.75 oz. simple syrup

4 blackberries

1/4 tsp. lemon thyme

2 Dashes Regan’s orange bitters


Build all ingredients in shaker. Add ice. Shake. Strain over fresh ice. Garnish with thyme sprig and serve.



Air Conditioner

2.0 oz. Death’s Door Gin

1.5 oz. Watermelon Juice

.75 oz. Lemon Juice

.5 oz. Black Pepper & Mint Syrup

Pinch of Sea Salt


Shake all ingredients and fine strain over fresh ice. Garnish with mint sprigs and black pepper.
