CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was wounded in a Morgan Park neighborhood shooting on the Far South Side early Thursday.

The 27-year-old was standing on a sidewalk with a group of people about 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Carpenter Street and 113th Place when someone walked out of a gangway across the street and started shooting, police said.

The man, a documented gang member, was shot in the leg, police said. No one else was struck.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stable, police said.
