CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two people were killed and four others were injured in shootings across the city Wednesday, authorities said.

A man died after he was shot multiple times in the chest and crashed his vehicle Wednesday morning in the South Side Burnside neighborhood, police said.

The 21-year-old was driving in the 9300 block of South Greenwood about 10:35 a.m. when someone in a gray car, possibly a Chevrolet, pulled alongside and opened fire, police said. He was shot multiple times in the chest, then crashed his car about two blocks away in the 9100 block of South Greenwood.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not confirm the fatality early Thursday.

Meneses, of the 4600 block of North Sayre Avenue in Norridge, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:20 a.m., the medical examiner's office said.

Police said he was a documented gang member.

The boy was standing outside about 5:45 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Bishop when a gray SUV stopped and a male exited the vehicle before opening fire, police said. The shooter then jumped back in the SUV and the vehicle sped away.

The boy was shot in the upper left arm and was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was treated and released. Police said the boy is a documented gang member.
