FBI Raids Restaurants In Chinatown

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Federal agents raided several locations in Chinatown on Friday, the FBI confirmed.

The raids are part of "an ongoing investigation," said Agent Joan Hyde, the spokeswoman for the FBI in Chicago.

Hyde said no arrests were made in Friday's operation.

Two of the restaurants were Lao Beijing, 2138 S. Archer, and Lao Shanghai, 2163 S China Place.

CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez reports that the owner, Tony Hu, owns several restaurants in the neighborhood.

According to Hu's website, Tony Gourmet Group, Hu operates about 10 restaurants in the Chicago area.

One shop owner told the Sun-Times that the FBI agents began showing up outside Lao Sze Chuan, 2172 S. Archer Ave., about 10 a.m.

Someone who works nearby saw agents removing paperwork and a computer from Lao Shanghai about 11:30 a.m.
